Easy Chicken Fry Ingredients:
Chicken- 2 LBS (whole chicken skinless cut into small pieces)
Large onion- 1
Ginger-garlic paste- 1 1/2 TBSP
Red Chilli powder- 1 TSP
Garam masala powder- 1 TBSP
Turmeric- a pinch
Salt- to taste
Oil- 2 TBSP
Cilantro- few strands for garnishing.
Slice the onion roughly and in a food processor make puree without adding water. To a large non-stick pan, add the pureed onion, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric and salt. Mix them all together and add Chicken now to this onion mixture. Add 1 cup of water to this and put the pan on medium high heat. Cover the chicken and let it cook in medium high in the water stirring occasionally. When the water is almost evaporated, take off the lid and turn the heat to medium. Keep stirring more frequently now and let all the gravy dry up. At this point add the oil and continue frying the chicken 5 to 8 minutes until the chicken gets nice brown color. Take the pan off the heat and garnish the chicken with Cilantro.
This Chicken fry can be served with rice or chapathi. Also the spice level can be adjusted according to taste. In my next post, I am going to to tell you some Spicy Rasam which goes well with this Chicken fry. Post a comment after you try this Chicken fry and let me know how it turned out. Happy Cooking!
